On Wednesday I made digital art this was my first time trying digital art and I found it really fun to make first we watch a few tutorials about how to make digital art and then we have to pick colors that compliment each other I picked blue and orange and then added some pictures to it.

Last week we have Pete the police man came in and told us about keeping ourselves safe and what is the difference between all the different abuses and what the abuses are and we even played a game there was like a scenario like somebody keeps calling you mean names online is that cyber abuse or physical abuse and you would have to go and pick the corner that best fits what the abuse is the different types of abuse are physical abuse, emotional abuse, cyber abuse, family harm, neglect abuse and sexual abuse.Then before he left he let us hold his handcuffs and his baten.

This term we have been reading a book called Holes and after we read a chapter we have to answer some questions so than we can remember what happened in the book holes is about  The main character  Stanley Yelnats, after being falsely accused of stealing a pair of shoes from a famous person.is sent to Camp Green Lake, a correctional boot camp in a desert in Texas, were they make the children dig holes every single day in the very hot temperatures  after being falsely accused of stealing a pair of shoes from a famous person.

Today I will be telling you about olympic day that happened on the 25th of september in the morning all of the year 8s that were at school had a job you were either running a game or running a group i was running a group before we starting going to the games we had Hamish Kerr came in and talk to us about his early life and how he became a gold medal olympian .Then I went upstairs to my group I was running and then we had to design our flag our country was the netherlands, the games we went to was  Ki o Rahi, Table Tennis , Basketball, Volleyball and Dodge Ball my favorite game that we went to was dodge ball.

This week we have been learning about the ancient olympics. It has been really interesting and there are some really weird facts about it too and there are not as many sport options as the olympics now days. The ancient olympics have more than 30 sports you can play and in the ancient olympics they wore no clothes. Only boys go compete and only unmarried girls could go and watch the games.

Today I will be telling you about my RE create ,.this week our task was to think of a type of poem and I made one about nature and how beautiful it is I really enjoyed it because I got to pick what type of poem to do and I picked Acrostic poem because it is one of my favorite types of poems and not lots of people.

Last week we went on a trip to Sumner beach to learn about sand dunes when we got there were two people from the city council there to greet us first thing they asked was are sand dunes good or bad I thought they were good but lots of other people thought different then they told us why they were good they were good because they shield houses from the sand and help with Tsunami and they are also good habits for different animals and plants but the bad thing is it blocks the view from the houses across from the beach . Then we went down to the beach and learnt that you should not run the on sand dunes because it ruins them and that there are special paths do go over the sand dunes with out ruining them and then we went and got to make our own sand dunes with our group my group was Nia,Ava and Ella.

This week we have been learning about statistics its really fun and is also interesting. statistics is like analysing data and putting it into tables that show the age or how long they read a book for and then putting it into a graph of some sort. There are lots of different graphs like bar graph,line graph,pie chart all lots more but these are some of the ones you can use for when you are analyzing data. Our task today was to make a statistical investigation. We had to think of a question. I did the question how do you get to school in the morning ,then we had to go round our class and ask them .We had to put it into a graph I picked a bar graph.

This week in maths we started to learn, about statistics I really have been, enjoying it because I find it interesting reading all of the different ages with phone and lots of other things yesterday. We had to get into groups of four and read how many kids had Snapchat,Facebook and have there own phone and then make a graph.

This week we have been learning about Alpine habitats and how they are important and what animals live there and how is climate change affecting those animals I have learnt that animals and plants adapt to the weather her is a example they sometimes change colour to attract the warmth and sometimes they hibernate.
