This week we have been learning about linnaean classification . What is the linnaean classification imagine you have a big digital music library with lots different of songs pop hip-hop  it is it has been really fun and i have been working on a poster about caterpillars and there class.

This week for reading we have been learning about text features and we had to make a comic strip about them I did a comic strip about Taylor swift writing a book and she did not know lots of text features my learning goal was identify some text events and text features and to discuss what they can make the readers think about.

This week our task was to watch some videos on the Treaty of Waitangi then we had to 9 of the tasks and all of them have different questions you had to answer then we had to pick 3 of them to put on our blog post. He Whakaputunga is the document that the chiefs signed to let England know that they were here first.

This term we have been learning about the earth sysomes our task was to make a world or island and we could make it on Minecraft or make a 3d model or a paper mashia or a map I made a map and we had a planing doc were we write what we were going to do and there were qeusions about stuff and you had to answer them and included it in your map or what ever you were doing

For PBl I made a map i made a island i used pencil and coloured the water blue and drew lots  of animals on it like snakes and pig and chickens and dolphins and  other animals so the people who lived on my lisland could eat food and i have a vege garden so we could have healthy veggies and i have a  town with houses for peolpe to live in and i have a lake for poelpe to go swimming in and a forest thats wear most of the animals live and gets food.

 

The climate range is 1 degrees to 45 degrees the seons my island go trough is winter autumn and summer i have soil to grow food the air is tropical my island is surrounded with salt water.

This week in reading we read a book about MeMe and it was about this girl that got a phone and she got a message from MeMe and they started talking and playing games on her phone but then MeMe was making her feel bad about her self. Our goal was to independently predict, interpret and analyse text, reading between the lines to gain a deeper meaning and we had to write what the  pros and cons of having a phone using quotes from the text to help explain the authors perspective.

Last week in maths Patterns are sequences (repeating or growing) made of numeric or spatial elements governed by a Rule Continue a growing pattern. Our task last week was to make a growing pattern and then make table telling people about what the growing Pattern is.

For the last four weeks of Term 3 we were learning about ‘How we can be Champions on Peace’. 

 

Firstly we learnt about the different symbols of peace. Some of these are the ying yang and the CND symbol,white poppy,olive branch,mistletoe,olive,japense peace bell,peace dove .

 

These symbols represent peace because they mean no war and to be nice to everyone even if they have done something mean to you. 

 

With these symbols in mind I created a slide show about finding peace and things that are peace full . the article i picked was not peaceful.

We also researched some real life champions of peace and wrote a short biography. I wrote about lianol messi.  I thought this person was a champion of peace because he was peaceful when he was playing soccer and Donated money to charity’s and to people that are less fortune net. 

 

 

We also created a peace prayer book. I have attached my peace prayer book here. 

Who is your favourite champion of peace?

In Science we have been learning about electricity. One of the experiments we did was called Buzzing Buzzer. 

Materials needed : 

• salt
• water
• little container
• zink nails x 2
• copper nails  x 2
• container x 2

My Hypothesis: Before conducting my experiment I thought that it was going to work.

What I discovered: After finishing my experiment I found out that my hypothesis was incorrect because it didn’t buzz or make a sound because we put too much salt in it.

Out of all the experiments we did I really enjoyed doing the buzzing buzzer because I liked stirring it. If I was to do this experiment again or something similar I now know that to add less salt.

For the last few weeks we have learning about electricity in science it has been very fun

On Tuesday was our lesson and we did two experiments but I am only going to talk about my favourite one we were trying to get it to make a sound but before I tell you about that I will tell you what we used we use 2 measuring cups and filled one up with water then you need a little cup 

Then fill it up with salt then you need 2 zinc nails and 2 metal nails then you need a little speaker with pegs at the end then you  need to stick the nails to the peg then put the salt in the water Then stir it slowly with a spoon Now it should make a little buzzing sound.
